Mr.V. S. Manimaran
Chairman & Managing Director
Mr. Manimaran is a second generation entrepreneur who has established a strong reputation for integrity and reliability. He initially established Viskaan Associates to provide outsourced services to large public sector undertakings. The company entered the aviation sector following the opening of the industry to private airlines with Jet Air Ltd being Visskan Aviation’s first client.
Today, the company serves numerous Indian and foreign carriers. Mr. Manimaran recognised the growing role of low cost carriers in Indian aviation and ensured that Visskan was also able to meet the needs of this airline model by delivering fast turnarounds whilst maintaining quality and competitive pricing.
Mr. Manimaran’s visionary approach identified opportunities in cargo handling, logistics, freight forwarding, educational training and travel as he successfully diversified the business into these areas. He is now preparing to evolve the company into a world class aviation services group. He also holds a post graduate degree in Mathematics.
Ms. Sumathi
Promoter & Shareholder
A highly accomplished executive, Mrs. Sumathi has successfully managed Visskan’s back office functions to support the smooth operation of the business and has ensured that they have evolved to keep pace with growth and diversification. Mrs. Sumathi has degrees in Electronics and Computer Engineering.
Mr. V.N.B Nair
Director - Training & Development
A veteran aviation professional who started his career at Indian Airlines, where he held numerous key positions in ground and cargo handling. He established teams that handled ground operations for the HAL Air India Joint Working Group and was the Head of Airport Services for Jet Air Ltd.
Mr. Nair played a central role in setting up the Visskan Institute of Aviation Management (VIAM), an in-house training facility which has been used to conduct IATA-approved training for airline and airport ground staff. He also developed an innovative programme to provide customised training for Air Arabia’s ground personnel according to the airline’s procedures. VIAM’s faculty have delivered airport and aviation management courses to a number of business schools.
Mr. Nair has established himself as a proven leader in the field of aviation education and training.
Mr. A. G. Gopalan
Chief Executive Officer
A highly experienced professional with more than 44 years in the industry, Mr. Gopalan has been a key player in the development of Indian aviation. He was a member of the start-up team at Jet Airways, one of the first private carriers in India following deregulation of the sector, and was responsible for charting its growth in South India. Mr. Gopalan held a variety of senior roles at Jet Airways with responsibility for managing ground handling teams and warehousing, organising cargo charters, supervising airport services as well as sales and marketing.
After leaving Jet Airways, Mr. Gopalan joined a proposed regional start-up, Star Aviation and then took on the role of Head of Commercial at Air Costa. Mr. Gopalan’s extensive experience in airline operations provides Visskan with strong and capable leadership.
Mr. Gopalan has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in English.
Mr. Venkat Rangan
Director
A young and dynamic entrepreneur and Founder Chief Executive Officer of Market Simplified, a global software technology company offering mobile solutions across multiple industries. The software has been implemented across all popular mobile and tablet operating systems such as iOS, Android, BB, Windows, Web OS and Bada. Supported by a compelling user experience and other value-added tools, Market Simplified has enabled clients to drive up to 20% of their online business through mobile channels. Mr. Venkat Rangan is making a critical contribution on the board by assisting Visskan to develop the appropriate business strategy to achieve its mission and objectives.
Ms. A. Tharini
Director - Finance
Tharani is the Director in Visskan Aviation and also functions as Director- Finance
Armed with over 20 years’ experience at Visskan Group, she is also responsible for managing the finance and accounts operations of the Visskan Group companies such as Visskan Logistics Services Pvt. Ltd, Visskan Institute of Aviation Management and Viskaan Associates.
Compliance of financial procedures, policies, practices and statutory regulations are her focus areas.
Mr. V. G. Kandhan
Director - Operations
Mr Kandhan is General Manager operations and a Director of the Company. Heading the Chennai office,he strategically leads and manages airport operations to run smoothly and efficiently in line with company’ s vision, mission and strategy and spearheads all the functions like Terminal, Airside, Landside operations and Facilities.
He has been there with the Organisation since inception and has contributed immensely to its growth . Responsible for rolling out the operations in many airports Visskan Serves, he continually monitors its operations, particularly in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Calicut Airports. Ensuring high standards are maintained by staff by tracking, monitoring, reviewing and guiding their performance, he has put in place a system to motivate people and facilitate their developmental process in order to lead and manage a capable and motivated team.
Responsible for Business growth ,. Staff development. Cost control and profitability, he also effectively manages relationships with customers, airline principals, and local authorities.
Kandhan is an experienced negotiator and places a strong emphasis on communicating with airline and airport stakeholders. He is a post-graduate in Economics
